On Behalf of Winn-Dixie's life lessons of love and past by Daniela - May 2017 Scholarship Essay

The book Because of Winn-Dixie By Kate DiCamillo has been my favorite as the first book in English I ever read as a English Learner in G.A.T.E. this book soothed and brought to peace the ‘what if’ in life and it has made me read more books and live with. But that it will all be ok. This book was made into a movie. I feel like it sparked my lifestyle of a outcast and being a good kid since the main character was my age and I could relate since I live in a mobile home and sympathize with a victim of bullies in my school who is Caucasian and lives 3 small blocks away from me but I was too shy to stop the bullying.
This book made me feel like I traveled to a site with many emotions, like where it says about the candy made in the war time. I even once made a made up story that Opal was my real friend to my mom I told her the whole story as if Opal was my lifelong friend this seriously happened I told her all I could remember like “uhmm… mom I have a friend who has a big dog named Winn-Dixie oh, Opal, she is a red Head she lives with her dad like my friend Alexis and she is like very Christian’’ then my mom would say “oh yeah?’’ and so on I would shape up my sentences really well since I took theater in community college and I kept saying “ yeah she’s really smart she picks on these two twin boys who tried to bully her and she does not care of looks she has she moved to another city and met a librarian lady with a family owned library” and I told her of a bear (actually the dog but once that a bear did walk in) that went to the library really realistically (my mom I thing believed it) and how she would speak and that candy that would give a weird taste of a like melancholy emotion like a past memory.
I have always been an imaginative know it all 16 gigabyte memory person who remembers everything and in this story the girl never lived with her mom and wants to know of her. This story has a diverse and connect-full plot. I never have had the chance to speak to anyone in my family on serious personal matters; nor, had friends. my older family never gave me advice but rather mistreated me plus water boarded me and made rumors on me thus I have been bullied at school upon appearance. When I turned 18 I went couch-surfing and could barely do scholarships. This scholarship is rare since the story is like living without part of a heart, her dad is very quiet and the girl is on her own may dislike her but she fends. Opal was a very rare kid. Just like the boy Christopher 3 streets away from me he was also semi orphan and he lived a humble life as a kid. Now I turned to be his girlfriend at the age of 17, but I always had respect for him as little and I really have loved him for so much.
Opal wanted to keep herself with her mom when she found out a bit of things of her mom she memorized it so she could share with her mom for her to not abandon her since she was an alcoholic. This book influenced me in understanding thing I have met. The story started with a rude store owner and the twins who make fun of her it made me think of loneliness when no one is on your side and you are in worst occasions hurt. In the middle she the twin bullies are friends to her. The book touches on melancholy and abandonment.
The guy Christopher has a beautiful heart and shares a lot of understanding and empathy with me he is there for me; and, so am I to many people and other family. I always know loneliness is sad so I try to offer my up-most kindheartedness. Opal gave me a leadership lifestyle to live after Jesus she really is my role model she has a kind heart and Ms. Franny is really awesome librarian and the lady Gloria who had colorful glass bottles in her yard tree was really friendly and sparked a lot of spirit in my heart as at the end of the story they had a beautiful connivance. She works at a pet store and learns about being locked up as the pets free and guitar is played the pets sit. Ms.Franny of Gone With the Wind so Opal reads it with Gloria who says to not judge people on their past but their present. Thus makes me feel for the love relationship where Chris broke up with me, how mean a guy (Matthew)I was considerate of his kindness he hurt me many times and cheated on me with a girl I went to a mental hospital because of him and gossip.
As a closure everyone is lonely I believe. Winn-Dixie runs away in a rain-storm Gloria says to love something when it is there then they converse, Opal and Dad says he misses mom… finally the party goes on hearts are warmed.
