College Connections by Damian - November 2016 Scholarship Essay

College is a time to make friends. I am excited for my future college experience because it will give me the opportunity to really connect with new friends. My choice of college that I am planning to attend is Oral Robert's University. I am attending there because the atmosphere of the campus is great. I am wanting to become a Pastor someday and ORU is the perfect place to do it because it is a private Christian school. This means it will be full of other Christians with the same passions as me. I can not wait to get to meet all the faces of ORU.
I will be so thankful of my college experience because the friendships that I will make there will last a lifetime. Since there will be so many people there pursing he same kind of lifestyle as me, it will be easy to openly talk about my faith with them. I am ecstatic to experience the overwhelming amount of support that I am expecting from the other students and staff. I have already toured the college and the staff is so encouraging. ORU has chapel twice a week and I am super excited to have that experience of worshiping God with my college friends.
Friends are what makes college worth while. At ORU not just the students, but the staff as well are all so encouraging and I can not wait to spend my college experience with them. While education is the main reason anyone goes to college, the friendships and life long connections made while you are there is what really makes college, college.
