The Early Bird Gets The Worm by Dakari - January 2019 Scholarship Essay

We live in a time-based world. We have schedules, and each day we go from activity to activity once the clock says so. Time means everything in the modern world and sometimes it gets hard to get everything done in the day that needs to get done. But there is a solution to this problem, wake up early. It has certainly improved my life and can improve yours as well. We have all heard the saying, 'the early bird gets the worm'. And it is so true! There is so many benefits to waking up early like 'time boost', and better creativity hours to do the things you've always wanted to do. I am morning person because it is beneficial to my self-improvement.

When you wake up early in the morning there is a 'time boost' that occurs. This is when you realize that you have way more time. Most of my friends wake up around 9 a.m. I wake up at 6:30 a.m. and have two and a half hours of time to do things before my friends even open their eyes. At this time in the morning there is little to no distractions on my phone or on the television because the world isn't up that early.

The late hours of the day are almost never spent productively. But the opposite is true for the early hours. When you wake up you are refreshed and your energy tank is filled up to help take on tough, complex, creative work. Getting this type of work done early when there are no distractions will help stop procrastination.

I am an early bird because I have found that I am more productive in the mornings. I noticed that I can get more things done and not procrastinate on things that I use to never have time to get to. It has helped me create better habits which has led to self-improvement.
