College degrees can be something that one puts their entire lives into. It could be part of an identity of someone. For others, it's the hopes and dreams of a family.
But college degrees mean so much more than that. A single degree could provide financial stability to those who receive it as is seen in many studies which show how much more a degree could financially bring into one's family compared to those with a simple high school diploma. A degree could also open many more job opportunities. Certain occupations require a minimum of a bachelor's degree. One would need to go to school in order to receive certain training and expertise in said field.
Another great benefit of a college degree would be connections. There will be certain people present in your classes that could potentially help one out in the future. One may possibly have never had met them if it weren’t for the college degree that one was seeking.
But overall, I think the greatest benefit of a college degree would be the honor that one could bring to their family, especially for those who will be the first in their families to receive a degree from a higher educational institution.
