what the words under the picture mean to me by Courtney - November 2018 Scholarship Essay

"I always knew looking back on my tears would bring me laughter, but I never knew looking back on my laughter would make me cry."

In my high school yearbook you can find this quote by Dr. Seuss under my senior picture. You would see my smiling face and long blonde hair and the people who graduated with me would probably remember me as the girl who went to every football game, cheered the loudest at basketball games and the girl who really loved high school. And they would be absolutely correct. I loved every minute of high school. I was in the student section for any game I could get to, I played tennis for my school, managed my high schools wrestling team and the lacrosse team. Managing the lacrosse team was easily the best part of high school for me. I made so many friendships I will cherish forever. During my junior year, our team won the state title and it is still one of the best days of my life. And I know this quote stands true because of this day. I miss the friendships I made on that team as we have all gone off to college. I also remember crying about silly high school things that I can look back and laugh on. For the classmates I grew up with, I know they could verify that Dr. Seuss' quote perfectly sums me up.
