Studying Abroad in a different country is a life changing experience. You get to explore the world and learn at the same time. Studying abroad takes people out of their comfort zone and lets them enjoy new adventures. Many colleges offer study abroad programs. If I get the chance to go to a different country and study I would love to take that opportunity. Studying abroad for me would be challenging, fun, and memorable.
Studying abroad can be challenging because you are put into a new culture and you must adjust to the different changes around you. When you got to a different country to study abroad, not everyone speaks your native language. With that, you must learn the language that the natives of the country you’re staying in speak. Communication is a very major component of learning. If you are unable to ask a question about the topic being taught, then how can you ever ask for help? Google translate is an option, but you cannot have an entire conversation using just google translate with no background knowledge of the language. I would greatly enjoy learning a different language and learning about a different culture other than my own. I feel as though living in a new area would be extremely different, but there is nothing wrong with a little change. With some challenges there is also fun times.
There are plenty of great opportunities to have fun while studying abroad. Meeting new friends from different places all over the world is awesome. You make special connections with these people because they are with you for an entire semester. I personally love meeting new people and talking to them about me and asking them about themselves. Meeting new people is great because then you can build those relationships that may help you in the future when you are trying to find a job. Along with making friends, you also get to find new interests. You get the opportunity to try new food, activities, and go on crazy adventures. Having the opportunity to try new things is great because you never know what unusual food you are going to like unless you try it out. Making new friends and trying different things is something about studying abroad you will never forget.
Studying abroad can also give you the opportunity to find yourself in a different place with what you are used to. Maybe by studying abroad you may think about changing your major because you like to think about how the churches were built in Italy or why people act the way they do in different countries. I feel as though I would be able to find myself in a foreign place and really take in all that my life as thrown me and what is yet to come. I know that this would have a positive effect on me because I would want to change my college years for the better. Maybe if I study abroad, it will give me and idea or inspiration to change the world.
