TEACHER PLEASE by Corbin - April 2020 Scholarship Essay

I do believe that attending college is important. The value of education is something that I have learned. Both of my parents have not had the opportunities that I have. I have witnessed their struggles and it propels me to get my education young.

Advantages of higher education includes self-confidence, stability and knowledge. College is a time when I will become more independent and take on new responsibilities. My goals is for education to provide me with self-confidence, so I will not have to depend on others for support. Also the opportunity to be generous. Our world is changing, knowledge will broadened my mind and help me adapt to change. Education is respected in our world and I hope to gain more respect. Lastly, I expect higher education to give me a stronger sense of self. Build my character and develop my maturity.

Experience has taught me that I enjoy mentoring children. Helping children grow intellectually, socially, emotionally and physically are goals of mine. So much so that I want to become a teacher. Teaching is not for the faint of heart. I want to be able to teach students not only about the curriculum but also how to become successful adults.

My dreams are big. Education is the tool to help build my dreams. Change is part of life and a new chapter is about to begin. I am grateful for this opportunity and the chance for higher education. I will appreciate the scholarship. It will lesson my financial load and help me to focus on academics and my future career.
