The Importance of Education by Christopher - October 2022 Scholarship Essay
Education is an amazing and brilliant thing to have. The reason being is that it not only helps an individual person but it can help an entire community, nation, and this beautiful world. It helps a person by increasing their pay, helping them understand how things work, and raising future generations to be smarter than we are and to learn our lessons.
Our main goal for education is to train a new generation so that they can one improve our technology, society, but also our world so that there is still a planet for people to live on. But not only help the planet and the people but the animals as well so that we can see and better understand how nature can live on.
A goal that we should also thrive to achieve is better understanding how things work. The reason being is that we can learn so much from it, but also make new and incredible discoveries and machines. This opens up the possibility of space exploration, new medical treatment, things to help save the environment, a new fuel source, and new ways to have enough food for everybody.
A main thing that we all learn throughout life is lessons we go through as an individual, group, community, nation, society, and as a world with a vast amount of people. These lessons can be good things where wow this solution works for this problem or bad and terrible things where we should have never allowed a person to come into so much power. We see many examples of this throughout history and one of them being that the Wright brothers created something to be believed in possible but proven wrong through many trials and tribulations. But we have also learned that if we try to conceal a harsh and bitter fact we learn that this is not a good thing because eventually someone in power will use this to their advantage. One of these people that did this was Joseph Stalin who was a terrible tyrannical leader while he was alive and in power.
What education means to me is a lot because it makes leaders and geniuses, hope and prosperity, and most importantly learning to make something new. Education is a tool that should be utilized in order to not only help an individual person but a community, nation, society, and the beautiful world we live in. We can do this by setting three goals I find valuable: one understanding how things work, two teaching future generations, and three learning and teaching the good and the bad lessons we learn individually and as a whole.
