We Must Change by Christopher - June 2014 Scholarship Essay

We need to make a difference this century. The 21st Century is our time to put our stamp on the world with a healthier environment. We must convert to more efficient power supplies and invent new ways of reusing energy. We have hydroelectric vehicles, but we continue to use gas. Why? We are killing ourselves with this sort of nonsense. It is up to us to change the world today, in order that we are guaranteed to see tomorrow.

I would write about this because this is a very important issue, and I feel people are not educated or concerned enough about this topic. The power supplies we use are not being maximized to their full potential. There are so many other unexplored options out in the world. Nobody knows what will work and what will not work until they try it. I feel we are not experimenting with the items that are most abundant in this world. We are wasting to much energy, and henceforth, killing our planets environment.
I know that my generation is becoming known as the lazy generation, but I hope that will be proven incorrect. I do not want to be Earth's last generation. I hope that we do in fact fix our problems before they become irreversible.
