10 Years Into My Future by Christine - December 2015 Scholarship Essay

Most people hope that in 10 years from now many things will happen to them such as wealth, success, or having a family. On the other hand, I want and see a secure future. I plan to be stable enough to support my 4 month old daughter and give her the necessities that she needs in her life. I know that having an education will bring that to me, for her. Not having enough money to go to school is a burden and a struggle. Without an education, I cannot become an RN in the Pediatrics field. Also, without being an RN, I won’t be able to provide for myself or my daughter. But no! In 10 years, I see myself walking those hospital halls attending to my patient’s needs. I see myself being able to support my daughter and to be proud of all my accomplishments. I want to be able to spend more time with my family while knowing what my priorities are.
Throughout my life, my parents have strived to help me get what I want. Going to college is my decision, this is something I can hold onto, grow, and learn. I know that any help to go towards furthering my education is the greatest gift anyone can ever have. I dedicate my time and efforts into aiming for that Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
In 10 years, I will be Christine Benzon, RN and a proud mother. I see what I want to achieve and there isn’t anything that will stop me.
