Battle Plan for Academic Success by Christine - December 2017 Scholarship Essay

Due to the rigorous course work involved with many academic programs, students have to learn to adapt quickly to stressful situations. When it comes to school projects, there's a method to success. The method centers around time management.

For starters, the individual should make sure to evaluate any other assignments or obligations that might take precedence. Always complete assignments in the order that they'll due and the easiest way to keep track is with the use of a planner. Planners can be a lifesaver when juggling school, work, and extracurricular activities as many students do. Set aside time slots in which the project can be worked on. A few hours a night is a far more efficient way to complete an assignment than the entirety of the night before.

From there, address the instructions for the project. Write down plans and ideas for the given prompt or assignment that jump easily into the mind. Not every idea may be useful but it's smart to gather thoughts prior to starting. Set aside any distractions such as phones to focus purely on the given task. Reward yourself with breaks at various points of progress to encourage completion and attention. Since silence is unnerving for some individuals, feel free to play classical music which can stimulate the brain. If plans were made accordingly, only a few hours each night needs to be devoted to the project which prevents individuals from being easily drained.

School work doesn't need to be anxiety-inducing. It's natural to feel nervous or worried about school but managing your time can make the task infinitely easier. Working efficiently during allotted time periods is a crucial step towards academic success.
