I come from a little town just right off of I-10 called Jennings , Louisiana . You wouldn’t think that this little town would be in desperate need of help if your just passing through, but like people say “you never judge a book by its cover”. I was raised in Jennings almost my whole life , I have seen the beautiful sides and the ugly sides of my hometown and for some reason I could never turn my back on it. I was very pro active in my town . From working at a community center with my mom to working at the local rehab center, I always manage to find ways to help people .
Therefore , if I was given the opportunity to get a 10,000$ grant for my hometown . The first thing I would spend it on is our community center , because in my town there isn’t anywhere safe for children and young teens to go and play or have the opportunity to feel safe, and if I was to have any money left over I would let it go towards school uniform . In Jennings half of the people in my town are low income families and I know from my family experiences,when it comes to school uniforms family’s struggle to buy them . In conclusion, if there was a way for me to make a difference in my hometown , with no hesitation I would start where it all began for me.
