My love of Culinary Arts by Christina - October 2016 Scholarship Essay

If roles were reversed and I was the teacher, I would teach Culinary Arts. I have enjoyed cooking and baking since I was a little girl. It started with an Easy Bake oven! Along with my father (who shares the same passion with myself), both of us created quite a variety of entrees and desserts. While the Pinterst app has been an excellent creative sources of recipes, it also overwhelms a person who wants to make every recipe on the app!

When I took a Culinary Arts in high school, my knowledge in this interest increased. I learned so much and my passion for cooking continued. I found many of the other students in the class were more excited to come to class, than other classes. The happiness I found when a recipe was completed gave me a sense of accomplishment and joy. Even when a recipe does not go well as expected, I learn to analyze what created the problem and not to make the same mistake on future recipes.

If I would to pursue the teaching field, Culinary Arts would be the route I would take and teach. I would love to show students that how exciting Culinary Arts can be. While it teaches a person how to create their own meals and fend for themselves, but it also will give them a sense of accomplishment and inspire more future chefs.
