When I get to college, I plan to major in nursing and continue my education to become a Nurse Practitioner. Various experiences have led me to my decision on my career. There have been multiple times when I have been in public, whether it be a store or a football game, and someone has yelled, if anyone is a doctor. Every time I experience this, I feel so helpless and sick to my stomach. My motivation to become a nurse is driven by the feeling of my stomach dropping in those situations. I want to be the person who can help and save a life. The one who can take control of the situation and knows what to do.
I have always been the best at science and math throughout school. I knew a STEM major was right for me, and I wanted an occupation in which I could have a big impact on the world and help others. I was set on the medical field when I began to work at a nursing home. It has solidified my decision that nursing is absolutely for me. I love being able to provide help to others who can’t do it themselves. I hope that through nursing, I can impact many lives by saving lives or even just brightening someone's day. I hope to influence others to become nurses by being a good role model to the younger generation and showing them all the amazing things about this career path. Nursing is the perfect combination of science and math for me while incorporating my passion for helping others.
