How a College Degree Benefits My Future by Chloe - October 2024 Scholarship Essay

There are many benefits to obtaining a college degree. I am currently enrolled as a freshman majoring in political science with an emphasis on pre-law and legal studies. It is my goal to attend law school in the future and obtaining a bachelor’s degree is one step along the way in my chosen career path.
Attending college will give me the educational foundation and skills I need to succeed. In addition, I will gain skills in communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving. Obtaining a college degree will provide me with multiple other benefits including a higher earnings potential, better career opportunities, networking opportunities, and personal growth.
As a current college student, I have been able to join the Student Government Association at my university and become involved in multiple community service initiatives through this organization. I am also learning about the importance of teamwork, organization, and perseverance by serving as an intern in the Student Government Association. These experiences have fueled my passion for social change and reinforced my belief in giving back. They help me to be a better person overall.
Being in college is new and exciting experience. Currently in my first semester of college, I have had opportunities to stretch myself out of my comfort zone. I get to learn about topics that are of interest to me and make new friends along the way.
In conclusion, the degree I will earn will be of great benefit, and so will all my experiences along the way. I am grateful to be on the journey to a bright and fulfilling future.
