A Morning Person's Routine by Chelse - January 2019 Scholarship Essay

Everyone is different! Some people are more productive in the morning, while others are night owls. Personally, I consider myself to be a morning person. I have a strict daily routine that consists of waking up by 7:30 AM and going to bed by 10 PM. When I stick to my daily routine, I am the most productive in the morning.
I believe I am the most productive in the morning because each morning I eat a healthy breakfast. Eating breakfast before I start my day puts me in a good mood, and gives me the energy I need to start my day. For example, when I skip breakfast I tend to get tired quickly after sitting in class for so long; which causes me to miss out on important information given by the professor. Also, I tend to focus more in class when I eat breakfast because I’m not hungry. Being hungry during class is the worst feeling in the world. When I’m hungry in class, I’m more worried about what I’ll eat for lunch than what my professor is saying.
Each morning I drive forty-five minutes to get to my college. Many people would think this drive would be tiring, but it actually helps me wake up in the morning time! The drive to school allows me to meditate and put my mind in the right place before class. Ultimately, the drive helps me prepare for the day ahead of me. While I drive to school, I think about what assignments are due soon, what topics my lectures will be on, and when I should start studying for upcoming tests. By the time I arrive to the college, I am very alert and ready to get through each class.
In conclusion, I am the most productive during the morning due to my morning time routine. Eating breakfast and driving to school helps me reach my ultimate productivity level. I tend to get all of my work done in the day time so that I can get enough rest at night. I believe that regardless of rather you’re a morning person or night owl, as long as you work hard to finish all you’re assignments on time and study for each exam that is all that matters.
