Describe one New Year's resolution that will help you become a better student in 2016. by Chantell - January 2016 Scholarship Essay

Eagerly waiting for the New Year to begin. Counting down the days, hours, minutes, and seconds. Until we scream “Happy New Year” to one another. My resolution for this year was to start everything that I had in mind before 2015 ended. For example, I am extremely interested in the language Arabic. To one day accomplish my goals to help anyone in need of translation or needs to seek health attention in rural poverty areas. Also, I am big on overcoming procrastination. To put a stop to it I started my application for college, completed numerous amounts of scholarships, and started to study for the SAT before the year ended.
After trying to figure out why I was not pledging to my New Year’s resolutions in the prior years wholehearted. I came to the question “Why would a person known to be a procrastinator begin a new routine or start anything new on the desired day or time”? To avoid this I have decided to start my resolutions before the year ended, so I can continue to work in the New Year. Incorporating this resolution to daily life will definitely be beneficially to my school work. To actually start an assignment the day it is assigned, finishing it early, and giving me a substantial amount of time to recheck my work. This will continue to leave me at ease; laying on a pile of A’s.
