Images are Everything by Carolyn - December 2017 Scholarship Essay
School projects can sometimes be a daunting task to create and are usually followed by presenting it to the class or just the instructor. With beginning a school project, one must think of the image(s) or picture(s) that can be translated from the idea of the project to the final product. Images are powerful for any project because it invokes creativity and it is more inviting than just words written on slides or on a paper. Even when presenting the project, using images will draw in others to be more thoroughly engaged into what you are doing because images create associations in our mind to help us better connect the material being shown to us. It also helps the person creating the project with remembering the details that they would like to present through the project.
For example, in many of my projects for my Spanish classes, I would always place as many pictures as I could in the Power point that I was presenting on with less words. It helped me not to forget any important points as I was giving the picture story and all my classmates loved it and none of them had fallen asleep. In another project that I had done where we had to link all the English as a Second Language teaching theories into some kind of representation. I created a visual representation of how the theories were related the intricacies of running a concert hall performance. My classmates and my teacher loved it and because I was the one creating all the visuals, I never forgot how each part corresponded with each of the theories.
So, remember, when you are starting a project for school, the ultimate strategy you can have is the more images you can create in any way you can think of, it is always going to be more engaging for your audience to remember your content and it will be easier for you to share the content because images are harder to forget than words written on a page.
