Future Bridesmaids by Caroline - November 2016 Scholarship Essay
College brings many unforgettable memories to everyone. Having two older sisters in college, I get to hear about some of these memories. Whether its late nights on the weekend, or making new friends at socials, most of the memories are positive. Something that I look forward to in college, and that I will definitely be thankful for, is making new best friends. All I hear about from my friends and sisters that go to college is that they have made friends that seem like they have known each other for forever. I can’t wait to go to college and make new friends that could possibly end up in my wedding.
Something that my sister and I always seem to talk about is our future weddings. We joke around with our two best friends, that also happen to be sisters, and constantly call each other bridesmaids. Although, I already have a few bridesmaids in mind, I know that I will meet the rest of my wedding party in college, and for that I am thankful. My oldest sister, Erin, never had best friends in high school. She always had close friends, but not the kind that you would want to call your bridesmaids. In college, she immediately made four best friends that have stuck by her side all the way through senior year. I know for a fact those four friends will be in her wedding.
Making new friends is important to me. It is important because I believe that if you make new friends, you will experience new things. In college, I have decided that I will get out of my comfort zone. I am stuck in a box that consists of just me and my friends in high school. I can’t wait to get outside of that box and experience all of the things that my sisters have experienced. Making new friends that I will eventually call my bridesmaids is what I will be most thankful for in college.
