My Inspiration by Carley - October 2019 Scholarship Essay
In my life the most inspiring person academically would be my theatre/OAP teacher, Mrs.Tucker. She always knew the exact thing to say to me. There was times in high school that I would be hard headed and not want to do anything, but the only reason I did was for her. I would not be where I am today without her. She helped me in so many ways.
Mrs.Tucker helped me through my classes when I was at my lowest of lows. There was plenty of times I would have some mental breakdowns and just want to give up on all of it, but she would have the best words of advice to make me pick myself back up. She was by far the best teacher I had in all of my high school career. Mrs.Tucker did not have favorites, she was there for all of her students even if it had nothing to do with her class. She was smart all around in all subjects so she would help all the kids as much as she could, or in the best way she could.
There was times I would not turn my stuff in, and my reason was because I did not know how to do it. Therefor, in the long run that hurt me bad, she explained to me my freshman year that if I start that now then it will turn into a habit. From that point on I had all my stuff turned in earlier than the due date because I knew if I would do that, that it would break that habit I created at such a young age. My first semester of college has been great because I took her word and broke that habit before I got to a really important stage in my life. In high school some teachers will allow you to turn things in late, in college that is not an option.
I really wish I could repay her for all the inspirational stuff she gave me to help me get through the rough times academically, and stuff outside of school. Maybe one day I will find a way to do that. without
