My Favorite Non-Traditional Approach by Cambry - September 2024 Scholarship Essay
Learning inside a classroom is not the only effective way to learn. With all the technology and resources we have out there, you can use it for your own good and learn on your own time. My favorite non-traditional way is to learn independently, which lets me explore what I want, when I want, without being stuck in a classroom.
Learning on my own gives me a lot of freedom. In a regular class, the teacher decides what we are doing that day and when she is going to teach it. But when I learn on my own, I get to choose. If something catches my interest, I can start learning about it as soon as I want.
I use a lot of online tools for this. Websites like Coursera, Khan Academy, and YouTube have tons of courses and tutorials over almost anything. These sites offer me videos, reading materials, and quizzes that help me learn and study. There is also other sites available to you that you can ask questions on and share ideas. This makes learning enjoyable and keeps me motivated.
Right now I am working on my grammar and punctuation for future essays. I want to get better at writing correctly and smoothly. Grammarly is super helpful: it not only fixes mistakes but explains them and suggest improvements. This website has made me more aware of common errors an how to avoid them.
I'm also learning about subject-verb agreement. These are basics for writing good essays. I practice with grammar workbooks and online exercises. By focusing on these areas, I'm getting more confident in my writing, which is import for future references.
In short, I love learning on my own because it gives me the freedom to study what I want, when I want. Right now, I'm focusing on grammar, punctuation, and coding. Using online resources and setting my own pace, I'm always learning new things that will help me in school and my future career.
