"Pie? Yes, I would love pie," I would think to myself, confused and annoyed, as I sat in my dreadful Algebra three class. To my dismay, the teacher was never speaking about this kind of pie. This was how most of my high school math classes went for me. Confused and frustrated, I would turn to hating math. I feel bad for math, as it is simply just misunderstood, like a moody teenager. If math would be taught solely by caring, understanding people, math could possibly have a chance in this world, to be loved my the masses. This being said, if I was a teacher, I would choose to be a math teacher, in order to give students and math a fair chance.
Math is it's own language. It is the language of numbers. This language must be spoken and written in such a way that it captivates the attention and minds of young onlookers, for little do they know this language with be spoken to them the rest of their lives. If I were a math teacher I would speak the language of math to the children in a way that they could understand and come to love. I would use real life problem, in which math is essential to produce an answer, so they can have logical events they can put the language to work. These real life occurrences will give us a generation fluent in the language of math.
In a world run by numbers, the language of math is an essential tool for every human to have in their toolbox. If every person is equipped with the knowledge of numbers, the debt of our nation could began to decrease, causing a more successful world. My goal for my life is to leave everything better than I find it, so by becoming a math teacher, I can leave the world better than I found it.
