Living My Senior Quote by Brynn - November 2018 Scholarship Essay

Throughout high school, you read all the senior quotes from that year. Some are funny, some are religious and some are poetic. Every year I saved almost two hundred quotes on Pinterest preparing for that day I would pick my senior quote. Freshman year I was sure I would use my confirmation bible verse. Sophomore year I wanted a quote from High School Musical. Junior year I had no idea what quote I wanted but I knew it would be legendary. Now it's finally senior year and I’m forced to face the reality that I have to actually choose one this year! High school is a place where your personality changes about five times a year. You are constantly finding activities you are good at, finding new role models, and go through a million best friends. That's why finding the perfect senior quote is so important. It leaves behind a glimpse of who you used to be.
As of now, my senior quote will be “In a world where you can be anything, be kind.” I want to be remembered as the girl whose attitude was contagious. I want teachers, classmates, and teammates to remember me as a genuinely kind and positive person. I don't want to just be remembered for the quote, my goal is to continuously try to fulfill it. In this day and age it's easy to get lost in a world that is constantly changing. There are so many opportunities that will be presented to me as I approach graduation and I hope to have the strength to pick what I think is morally right for me. At this point and time, I want to be a teacher. People always ask me if I know how much they get paid I've never understood why, but they always do. I want to be a teacher because I want to make every student that I teach feel important and to feel confident and smart no matter what. I don’t care about making the most money, I just want to make an impact on my students. In elementary school every year the golden rule was to treat people the way you want to be treated. I always took that rule to heart, even now, it is one of the rules I live by. There are many things that go into being kind, and I know that it is impossible to be kind all the time, but I sure am willing to try. If i’m going to be anything in this world I’m going to be kind.
