My name is Brooklynn Mayer and I am a Senior at East Fairmont High School and I am going to be attending WVU in the fall. My passion for marine biology and wildlife management comes from a deep love for the ocean and its inhabitants. I envision using my education to address and help critical issues such as marine pollution, habitat destruction, and the conservation of endangered species. By pursuing a degree in marine biology, I aim to develop a better understanding of marine ecosystems and the challenges they face. One of my primary goals is to contribute to conservation and protection efforts for marine wildlife and their habitats. I plan to one day work with established organizations and research institutions to create effective strategies for preserving marine and wildlife biodiversity. This includes conducting scientific research to monitor the health of marine ecosystems and hopefully one day educating the public about the importance of ocean conservation. The "Varsity Tutors" scholarship will significantly aid me in achieving these goals by providing the financial support necessary to pursue my education and gain valuable hands-on experience through internships and research opportunities. With this scholarship, I will be able to focus on my studies and actively participate , gaining the skills and knowledge needed to make a meaningful impact in the field of marine biology and wildlife conservation.
