Impossible VS. Opportunity by Brooklyn - February 2019 Scholarship Essay

Dream. What does that word mean to you? Does it mean impossible, or does it mean opportunity? Most people have dreams that they want to accomplish in their lifetime. It can be as simple as going to a professional football game, or as extreme as to becoming an astronaut. I actually have two dream jobs that I hope to accomplish someday. One is more realistic and the other is out of this world.
My practical dream job is to be an elementary school guidance counselor. I have already taken multiple stapes to complete this goal. I go out to an elementary school and help teach 3rd graders. I am going to go to Indiana University-Southeast (IUS) to obtain a degree in elementary education or social work. From there, I can enter a masters program to study the counseling field. Then I can finally go and help kids in school with anything that they need.
This dream is what many believe as far fetched and impossible. I want to be a Pro Wrestler. For those that do not know what pro wrestling is, my explanation is that it is what John Cena and The Rock is best known for. I have taken steps to pressure wrestling as well. Near IUS, there is a jujitsu gym where I plan to expand my knowledge and athletic ability. I have also spoken to many independent promoters around that area, and they would be happy for me to learn the craft of pro wrestling. I will train as much as I can while still getting school work done. I know that college is expensive, so I'm going to save as much money as I can in order to pay for college and to pay for wrestling school.
To me, the word dream means opportunity. I have an opportunity to go to college and become a guidance counselor, or to go out and become a professional wrestler. Is it going to be challenging? Yes. But I am willing to face any challenge that comes in my path. My powerful work ethic and drive will get me through any barrier that comes in my way. I can not tell the future, but I can promise that one of these dreams will come true.
