My 10 Year Plan by Brooke - March 2020 Scholarship Essay
I have considered my 10-year plan for a long time. When the college application began in the fall, I had to make big decisions for myself that would ultimately dictate where I would end up at the end of my college career. This realization introduced me to a level of excitement and fear that I had never felt before. I began to look down the road, post-college when I was a completely independent adult in society. Where did I want to live? Do I want to be married and have kids? Where did I want to continue my education knowing my environment would be influential? All of these questions I now have answers to, which creates my 10-year plan. My 10-year plan is to to be graduated from George Fox University with a Bachelors's degree in Organizational Communications. I want to be married and settled into a home that I own in the Willamette Valley in Oregon. I would like my job to be in the field in which I attained my degree and provide a service for the greater good In hopes to better my community. I have dreamed about these things becoming a reality since I was a young girl. It is truly easy for me to know my 10-year plan because it is something I have worked on and for, for many years. The Willamette Valley is my home, it is where my family is located and the only place I have ever known. Communications is a subject I excel in and have a burning passion for. I want to make this world a better place and being gifted with communication strengths is where I feel I can do that. My 10-year plan is rather simple, but it is the most important thing to keep my eye on as I enter a new chapter of life heading into my college education.
