Where do you see yourself 10 years from now? How will your education help you get there? by Brittany - December 2015 Scholarship Essay

I have seen my parents struggle all my life because they did not have a education. I want to be able to provide for my family and for myself without having to live paycheck to paycheck. I want to be a RN/BSN. Ten years from now I see myself with a beautiful home, family, and an amazing career. My education would help me get there a lot easier than if I didn’t have a education.
My education will give me the ability to live comfortably and be able to afford things in life that I need and not have to worry about where my next dollar is. I will be able to have a family one day and be able to provide for them and give them the things they need and want. I will be able to give my children a better financially stable home than I ever had.
To do this, I will be attending East Central University for my degree. After receiving my Bachelors in Nursing I want to return and receive my master’s. After I have received my master’s one day I would like to return to college and receive my nurse practitioner licenses. I find this field very interesting. Since, I have already received my CNA/LTC/MAT (certified nursing assistant, long term care, medicine administration technician) I am already in the medical field and work full time also.
If I received this scholarship it would help me to pursue my education and be able to have a career in the long run. I am not able to pay for college out of pocket and neither are my parents. I would take me one step closer to being able to have a career that can take care of me, my parents, and my own family one day.
