I close the door to the room I've known for the past 18 years. I am making a new life for myself. What will my life be? Without leadership skills I will not make it in this new world.

To succeed in college, it is necessary to have leadership skills. Leadership leads to success. Leadership gives a person confidence in themselves, and their abilities. Without leadership skills, it would make it difficult to succeed in college.

In college, it becomes more important to standout. This is the time in our lives that we become known for our abilities. People begin to take notice of us. As our peers and mentors began to notice our abilities, we’ll move into leadership roles. Those of us with strong leadership skills will become the leaders in our chosen fields.

Now that I have begun visiting various colleges, I realize the truth of this statement. Many of the colleges teach with classroom discussions and hands on learning, not with lectures. Without some type of leadership skills, a student would not benefit from this type of environment and could easily fall behind. As we enter the job market, these leadership skills will help us get jobs.
