Success vs. Failure by Brittany - September 2014 Scholarship Essay
*BOOM BOOM* The music of the largest party is blasting on campus and you're there! The base of the music fills your body and you begin to groove to the music. All your friends are there, the latest music is playing and you’re ecstatic with anticipation of meeting new people. Then suddenly your body turns cold and your face becomes numb, not because of the awesome music or the anticipation of meeting friends but because you just remembered you have a math exam in the morning that you haven't studied for. You run through the party in search for your roommate, to remind her about the test. You’ve found your roommate and told her the horrific news, your roommate replies calmly saying she already studied for the test before the party, continuing to boogie down to the music. Now you are the only college student who won’t be attending this rocking party all because you put studying last on your list.
For many college students this is a reoccurring situation, not managing your time correctly. With so many activities and school work going on simultaneously, students can get overwhelmed, distracted and lose focus. The best thing to do is to just prioritize your time with what’s most important- which hopefully is your academics! Mastering time management will only lead you to be a successful college student and not the sad student who had to leave the best party on campus.
