Looking Ahead by Bridget - March 2025 Scholarship Essay

I have known since the early age of 5 what I wanted my future to look like. That future was shaped by the stories my Grandma would tell me about her career as a nurse. I will be pursing a career in the field of Nursing, to be specific I see myself as an ER Trauma nurse. In high school I began to prepare for this career by taking Healthcare classes, obtaining a job as a nursing assistant at a care facility that specializes in taking care of patients with Alzheimer's or Dementia, as well as being an intern at my local hospital that has a level 1 Trauma ER.

I researched the best nursing schools in my state, Georgia, and toured them to see where I felt most at home. I choose College of Coastal Georgia. Their nursing school is in the top 5 in the State of Georgia and they have a very high pass rate, almost 100%, of the NCLEX test. The NCLEX is the national test that nurses take in order to become a Registered Nurse (RN). I feel confident that the rigor of CCGA's nursing school and the different areas of internships that they place the nursing students in, will prepare me to reach my goal of becoming an ER Trauma Nurse.

My future is bright, bold, and exciting as I prepare to move to the coast of Georgia to pursue this dream. In ten years, that dream will be a reality and I am excited for it.
