Why Studying Is Important by Brianna - August 2018 Scholarship Essay

The topic of my popular education podcast is why studying is important. I chose this topic because studying is one of the main keys to completing college successfully. Many people dread studying but I want to let students know why it should be important to them and motivate them. Most classes are given homework and test. Once a student completes their homework, they should have the understanding of how to do it if they are asked on a test. If not, they should prepare themselves and study the material until they can fully comprehend the homework. Many students tend to put off studying for test til the week of or even the night before. If students gave themselves the proper amount of time to study for their test ahead of time, they can feel more confident going into their test and only have to brush up on a few days before. Studying last minute before a test forces our brains to be rushed, and the student may not understand the material completely if they do not give themselves enough time to do so. I want to encourage students to start studying earlier than their normal study period so they can feel comfortable and positive going into their test. Lastly, I want students to know studying is important and worth it to have good grades to pass their classes.
