Throughout high school i've come across many challenges that have made me the person who I am today. From school work, to extracurricular activities, i've learned that, there will always be a bumpy road, before it becomes smooth. You may not believe me, but the bumps in the road, are the things that make you the person you are. They shape you to be the person you want to become, they teach you many valuable life lessons, and most importantly they teach you to never give up. Being a competitive gymnast, I know what its like to fall down, and then being forced to get right back up, and start from where you left off. It is the hardest thing ever, to be asked to get up again, and to not give up. When times get tough, we tend to run from what is troubling us, or giving us the most problems in life.

Failure teaches you a lot, and makes you a stronger person. Without failure, no one would know what it is like to work hard for something. To finally feel accomplished for something you've been working very hard for. No one would know what the word dedication means. To work as hard as you can to get to where you want to be. To put in countless amount of hours, working through the blood, sweat, and tears to better yourself. Without failing a few times before you succeed, there would be no satisfaction. Those failures, will make you work harder to finally succeed, and want you to better yourself.

Knowing what I know now about failure, and how it sets you up for success, I would let younger people know to never give up if they don't succeed the first time they try something. No matter how big the climb is, or how intimidated you might be, to never be discouraged. To always go with your gut feeling, and don't let obstacles get in your way. It is better to fail before you make it big, than to fail when you've already made it, because you've lacked experience. Life is full of curve balls, and surprises, so be prepared for what is thrown your way. Be ready for what is coming, and never give up.
