Academic Goal by Brandi - August 2022 Scholarship Essay

This is not technically my first year in college. I just graduated from high school and I was actually in a dual-credit program where I took college classes at my local community college. I just graduated from both schools in May of this year, 2022.
However, I am still very nervous to be going to an actual university where I will be living in a dorm away from home. When I attended high school my freshman I did not take It seriously and it really affected my GPA. The fact that I lacked work ethic my freshman year in high school really dragged me down the rest of my three years there, but with hard work I was able to bring my weighted GPA up to a 3.5 and my GPA for my college classes to a 3.2.
Which is why my academic goal for this upcoming year is to keep my GPA at least at a 3.0. I want to study Business Administration and in order to that my advisor already told me that I need to have a 3.0 GPA in order to get into the McCoy school of business in my campus. So there is no if I make a goal, it is when I make it.
