What does thinking outside of the box mean to me? Thinking outside of the box can mean different things to different people. However, I love to think outside of the box, and it is something that I am told to do quite often.
Thinking outside the box; a common phrase that most of my teachers use when talking to us students. Whenever someone tells me to think outside the box, I automatically start thinking of things that my peers will most likely not be thinking about. I think that when someone says to think outside the box, we need to think of something unique, yet smart. When teachers tell us this, I feel like they are trying to get our brains thinking. Almost everyone will think of the same thing if we are all told to “think inside the box;” the obvious answers to the question. Thinking outside of the box means to think differently than what you normally do. It is easy to think outside of the box when someone tells you to; however, to just think outside of the box on your own can be a little bit more difficult. I also think that it means to widen your thinking and to “expand your horizons” to new thoughts. Thinking outside of the box can be really fun because you get your mind going and start to think of things that you as a student would not think of.
