Having a college degree has much more pros than cons to having a college degree. The benefits of having a degree include a higher earning potential and an increase in job opportunities. The only bad thing about having a college degree is the debt that comes along with it.
When getting a college degree and going into a job that is necessary to have that degree, you will get paid for it. Some people will go back to school to get a higher degree just for the pay increase. Education is one of the biggest examples of this, lots of teachers will go back to college for the pay increase. Studies show that there is an 85% increase in pay for people with a college degree than those without one.
Not only can you earn more from a job but you have a larger opportunity to get a job. Some jobs require you to have a certain degree, but for those jobs that do not require one, and if you still have it you have a higher chance of getting that job over someone that is applying and does not have a degree. It is another pro to have on your resume that pops out to an employer looking to hire.
