The Ideal Classroom by Bradley - October 2014 Scholarship Essay
For me, the most ideal classroom environment is one that will benefit all involved. Whether it be the students or the instructor, no one should leave without having a positive experience. I want to be able to go to class excited to learn and likewise have an instructor who is excited to teach.
On the students end, they should be prepared each time they come to class. Any assignments that need to be done will be done and all will come ready build upon what they learned last. They will be dedicated, sincere, ambitious, and are willing to participate.
The instructor should be one that genuinely cares about the students. Someone who genuinely wants to help them with gaining the important knowledge that they need in life. The instructor needs to respect the students and the students should especially respect the instructor.
However, the time in class shouldn't always be serious. My favorite past instructors were ones that were funny and who help everybody have fun. This is the way it should be. Learning should be enjoyable.
If I was in an environment such as this, my school experience would be completely different. I feel that I would be able to exceed more in my educational experience because when you enjoy something, you tend to want to improve and build yourself in that area. It might be wishful thinking, but I would love to have this kind of experience in every class that I attend.
