How to Attain an A+ School Project by Bethany - December 2017 Scholarship Essay

What is the first thought you think of when your teacher or professor says, “The Project is due…?” Those four disgusting, nauseating, irritating words can ruin any students day. Do teachers and professors not realize that we have other classes, activities… a life? Projects are the worse because you know they take a long time and if you have OCD like me, multiply that amount of time by four. No student likes projects, but we all have to get them done. In order to complete a project on a timely manner one must create a strategy to attain a successful grade.
Step 1: When you first hear that a project has been assigned roll your eyes or complain to yourself, but after that’s done accept the fact that you have a project and MUST get an A. Glance at the directions and rubric to get a better understanding of the project. Is it really that bad? Once you better understand the project, find out the due date and write that date on just about everything you have. Write it on your agenda, calendar, sticky notes (and place them all over your room), even set the date as your phone’s lock screen so you do not forget.
Step 2: Once you know the due date for your project make a timeline. Begin with an outline of what exactly what is needed in the project. Maybe it’s research or you have to buy specific supplies. Either way, make note of specific dates when each part should be completed. For example, if you have a research project say that in one weeks time you want all the references of where your information is coming from. Then the following week all your notes from these references should be completed. By making a mental timeline, your project will be much more organized and you won’t have to worry about cramming in a sub-par, last minute project.
Step 3: After your timeline is completed your project should be almost done. Congrats you are over half of the way done! Next is the “nitty gritty” stuff. Grammar, mechanics, and other small details should be evaluated. Of course with my OCD, everything has to be perfect. If there is a misplaced comma, I will reprint a brand new page to fix the paper. Sometimes it is beneficial to have others view your work to make sure everything looks and sounds right. If you get the approval from others and are confident in your work then you are ready for the next step
Step 4: It is now time to assemble all pieces of the project together. Alluding back to the research paper, make sure you have your title page, the information page, reference page. Note: always remember the reference page! Once all are combined together then your almost done.
Step 5: You are done! Look over your project one last time to make sure you do not see any glaring mistakes. If not, then you are finished. What once seemed to be a dreadful project is now completed in a timely manner and completed. Now all that is left is to turn it in.
As you can see, in five simple steps one can attain success on a school project. If these steps are followed accurately I guarantee that you will be successful and get your well-deserved A. Remember that just because you hate projects doesn’t mean that everyone else around you loves them. No one likes to do projects, but the people who complete them successful have less stress and can go back to doing all the other fun stuff that have on their schedules. By using this strategy one will attain ultimate success on their school projects.
