My Next Big Education Goal by Benjamin - August 2024 Scholarship Essay

As I start my new journey at Indiana University after transferring from a community college my next big educational goal is to be admitted into one of the university's workshops. These workshops are run through the Kelley School of Business and include options such as the “Investment Banking Workshop” and the “Private Equity Workshop”. As a finance major both of these options interest me in my future career and these workshops would be an amazing place to begin getting experience in the field. I would like to be admitted into one of these workshops because they prepare you to meet the demands of the industry, give you access to amazing mentors, and provide you with great opportunities to meet mentors. Furthermore, these workshops would surround me with professors and students who all have a love for learning and similar interests to me. This would put me in a great situation to make lifelong friends who I can learn and collaborate with. Being in one of these workshops would allow me an advantage in pursuing my future career in finance, along with obtaining internships during the summers while I am at college. I think these workshops would be an amazing education and social opportunity for me while attending Indiana University and that is why they are my next big educational goal.
