Education, to me, is the gateway to a portal of opportunities. Within my life, I have been blessed with the ability to take 37 credit hours (and counting) of college level classes during my high school career. Being able to start my college education now has been extremely beneficial to me due to being able to complete the general education requirements of my degree while leaving a generous amount of time later to focus on internships and co-op experiences.
At Bowling Green State University, which I have been accepted to attend in Fall of 2023, I will be majoring in Visual Communication Technology, within the College of Technology, Architecture, and Applied Engineering. This program pursues creative and technical problem solving and uses the disciplines of print, photography, video, and interactive media to create content and engagements for the world. Today's world is always changing, and so is my creativity. Without education and the opportunities that accompany it, I would not be able to express my creativity in the type of way this degree provides.
Within the program, co-ops are required as they are part of the learning experience. While some may say education can only be learned in the books, I believe hands-on education is one of the best ways to learn in the field. Being able to go out, try new skills, and learn from any mistakes will be critical to my education. Overall, education is key to learning and gaining opportunities throughout life. I look forward to the journey I will be taking next fall!
