Why I would Teach Bible by Beau - October 2016 Scholarship Essay
If I was a teacher and could only teach one subject, that subject would be Bible. I love God and I love people. To be able to teach some of the values that God has called me to in my own life would be a great blessing. However, I do realize that God does not call every person to the same things or values. For example, I love encouraging people as Jesus Christ would have encouraged them, but a friend of mine serves others by holding the door open for anyone who is coming through at school.
Like I said, God has given us callings and passions on how to further the Kingdom of God, so he wants us to share that love with others and show them how they can figure out what God is calling them to. I would want to teach them through the words of the Holy Bible and through prayer. That is probably what my goal would be for a Bible class that I taught. I would want them to discover what God is calling them to in their own everyday lives.
I would also would to be more than just a teacher. I would want to be a mentor, a friend, and someone they can always talk to. Most of any of the teachers At my school, I have had teachers that genuinely care about their students and will bend over backwards to help them in any way that they can. I appreciate that greatly out of the teachers at my school. For the impact that has had on me, I would want to implement the same into my teaching career.
So why would I want to teach Bible? I would want to fulfill the calling and passion God has put on my heart to invest and pour love into younger people's lives and leave an impact on the student's lives, themselves.
