Technology has positively impacted my classroom experience by providing multiple avenues for learning and growth as a student. A prime example is how we use Membean for our vocabulary; it is a completely independent program that allows students to learn new vocabulary words at their own pace. This has helped me due to the fact that I can learn based on my own vocabulary. We used to operate as a class, with different words and a weekly assessment. The online program is remarkably better because I am right where I’m supposed to be without feeling too far behind or too ahead.

On the other hand, it has kept me organized. I use spreadsheets recurrently for various purposes. In fact, I have a scholarship organizer to help me stay organized for scholarships similar to this! If I didn’t have access to spreadsheets, I would be utterly lost trying to keep track on paper. On top of that, I utilize the calendar app to track significant upcoming due dates for assignments, school events, and scholarships, ensuring I don’t miss them.

Additionally, it has also facilitated my ability to complete assignments efficiently and swiftly, predominantly those I need help with or don't understand. For example, if I don't comprehend a chemistry assignment and am unable to get help from the teacher because they are sick or have other commitments, then I use online resources. Although some students sadly use it to cheat on assignments, I don't cheat; instead, I use it to help me understand and learn the concepts. Sometimes it's better to learn outside the classroom because it can be too overwhelming and distracting to understand assignments.

It has also helped me in the classroom with the use of smart boards. For example, in Calculus, before tests, we like to review with our own healthy math competition version of Jeopardy!. This has really helped me learn because I am an extremely competitive person, and it allows me to review the topics and understand while still having fun. Additionally, in class, we will work through problems on the smartboard, allowing everyone to see what we are doing and explain the work, which helps because I can see how my classmates are working through the problems and learn from them.

Overall, technology has helped me become a well-rounded and more productive student in the classroom. From completing independent-paced vocabulary exercises, becoming more organized, making assignments easier, and even using smartboards for Jeopardy!, it has helped me significantly. It captivates me every day with the remarkable things we can attain with technology. It is truly amazing when you think about it all, and I cannot envision what the future holds in classrooms as technology continues to improve.
