Every person who has ever succeeded or who will ever succeed have one thing in common: determination. Determination is what drives people through difficulties and hardships. People who are determined choose a more difficult path because they crave the challenge. There is an inner need within them to succeed and achieve. When this type of person sets his or her mind to achieve a goal no obstacle can block his or her path to success.

A person who is determined to succeed will always stand apart from the aimless drifters. There is a passion in this person's eyes; a fire inside that cannot be extinguished. One look at this person and it isn't difficult to conclude that they are bound for success in life. A determined person knows the importance of education and will squeeze every drop of knowledge out of every course he or she takes. For a determined person "just getting by" in college is not an option; he or she will surpass what is asked and put everything into every single assignment.

These determined students are capable of so much more than their peers who lack willpower. A determined person who is less naturally talented than some others will achieve more if those others lack adequate willpower. A determined student will give his or her all to achieve.

Some of the most determined people in the world can be considered "underdogs." These people come from less financially privileged families and they know the value of hard work and determination. These people don't take anything for granted and definitely won't take an education for granted.

Determined people are the ones who will truly succeed in life. They know that success isn't just handed to you; you have to go get it.
