Someone who has positively influenced my life is Robert Brian Robinson; he likes to go by Brain. Brian served in the military and currently works in the oilfield. I met Brian through KaraLee Barrow, his girlfriend. KaraLee, also known as Kares, knew my mom for about a year before my mom met Brian. I often spend time with Brian and Kares, and we talk about politics, science, college, and so much more. Whenever I am with Brian, I always learn something new or get a new perspective on a particular topic.
Brian has proofread my essays and pushed me to write better and think about more abstract concepts. Because of Brian, I have learned not just to use what a source gives me but to make inferences based on the source and find proof to back it. Brian has also helped me understand philosophy, psychology, and sociology at a higher level. Throughout those courses, I often talked to Brian, and he helped me better understand the topic and gave more information then I learned in class.
Brian has helped me figure out what I am passionate about and how to go about being successful in that field without judgment. Brian has always encouraged me to go after what I want, no matter how much it has changed. When I realized how much I loved art, he told me to go after what I wanted but reminded me that it could be difficult to be successful. After, he helped me form a plan that would help me be successful and told me not to let other people influence my career decision. Without Brian, I might have entered a career field that I would not be happy in, and for that, I am thankful.
