My Life in ten years by Ashli - December 2015 Scholarship Essay

During my life when asked where I thought I would be years from then, I always responded with Veterinarian. I loved animals and helping whenever possible. So I thought it would be the best fit for me. I was excited to spend every day with animals and couldn’t wait to learn about all types of medicine. As things began to shift and transform in my life though, I discovered that I really enjoyed creative writing. I liked to make up stories, and my favorite pastime was daydreaming about new ideas for books.
Now that I have been asked the question again, I realize that my mind has changed. In ten years, I hope to see myself working for a major game development company. I would love to be involved in creating some of the world’s greatest story-based games. This achievement will be a great task, but I want it badly. I can easily see myself working with a group of people towards a common goal: create the greatest game ever, I will work hard in college to get a degree, bachelor’s and maybe even master’s, that will catch the attention of game development companies. My love of creative writing and story-based video games will hopefully help me to get the degrees that I strive for.
I hope to be working on intricate storylines and character development within the next ten years. I say hope because I understand the difficulties that lie in the road ahead of me. Still, I am really set on what I want to do however difficult it may be.
