How Would Study Aboard Positively Impact My Life? by Ashley - November 2017 Scholarship Essay

The reason I believe Study Abroad would positively impact my life is that I would get to experience the beauty of life throughout the program. There is more things out there then just my small Georgia town I reside in currently. There is excellent food in Paris, there is beautiful building within Pittsburgh, there is a lake within Peru that hardly anyone has visited, there is lovely people in the United Kingdom! There is so much more to this world that I am not seeing and I want to see it!
When I was growing up, I knew I had a passion that would not hold me back. Not my burning passion for animals or for my grades or even my passion to have great grades and go to college to pursue my dream career as a Vet Tech. But the burning passion to travel! The undying burning passion to travel and not reside in one place for the rest of life. The burning passion to let my curious mind wander into new places and cultures that I have not experienced at all. This burning passion I have had in my life time, has not left yet. And knowing that there is a program out there that you have the opportunity to travel anywhere around the world while pursuing your dream career, within new country and culture soil, is absolutely mind-boggling to me. And I am not afraid to dive into that new culture one bit!
I have always been told that I could do anything I wanted if I set my mind to it. This world is beautiful and I wanna see it all with my own eyes. Not in a picture, not in am image I seen in video on Facebook. I want to see and experience it myself. I would love to just gather in a plane with a small group of my classmates to Britain and see its lovely architecture that it has in its cities. This world is absolutely breathtaking and we need more people to be more welcome to invite new cultures in their lives and I am one of those people who are not afraid to try.
