Some may say that elective classes are just space-fillers or even useless but if you choose the right electives on your scheldukle you could gain so much out of it. For example, a culinary elective class for someone aspiring to be a chef or a teacher's aid for someone hoping that one day they can have their own classroom helping guide little one's to greatness. Electives are not just fun classes to take during the day, they also help to impact the person you become after you leave.
I have taken numerous elective classes over the course of my high school years but there was one that really stood out to me and that was interning. As an intern, for a teacher at my school, you realy get the feel of what exactly it is that they have to go through because when they are not there you basically have to step up and fill in their shoes with the substitute. Being able to see just what those have to deal with and go through 5 days a week really opened my eyes as to why us young kids getting our education is so important. This has really pushed me to taking my education and coming to school so serious. This class shows you that even though teachers are looked down upon by so many students in their school they still do all they can to make sure that the curriculum isn't just taught but it is understood. And because of this I take my education just as serious as I would anything else.
