Changing Lives Through Education by Arturo - August 2017 Scholarship Essay

One of my career goals is to become a high school teacher or a college professor. If I were to become a college professor, I would teach general human anatomy and physiology. I am the most passionate about studying and teaching human science than any other field. I recently took A&P where I discovered many of the basic function of the human body, common diseases and cures, and varies career options available pertaining to the human body. Since A&P was my favorite classes I have taken thus far, I invested a lot of time and energy learning everything I could from that course. I tutored many of my classmates and I also helped other students taking the same course.
I would teach anatomy and physiology so I could become a mentor to many young minds entering the nursing and fitness field. I want to make sure that the next generation has the proper knowledge to take care of the ill and those that want to better their life. As an educator I will be able to give upwards of a few thousand students the basic knowledge they need for their field. My goal as a professor would be to connect with as many of my students as possible and guide them along their journey to working in their dream career. For this very reason I want to become an educator. If I could help save the life of one person through the education I provide, becoming an educator would be worthwhile. I know that becoming a great professor that touches the lives of many students is going to take a lot of effort, but I also know that it’s going to be one of the most rewarding achievements I do in life.
