Junior Year by Armaan - December 2024 Scholarship Essay

I have dealt with my fair share of academic struggles throughout my time from elementary, middle, and high school.

One of the struggles that stood out to me was my junior year of high school. This was one of the lowest points in my life and I was so overwhelmed. I had taken on too many extracurricular activities and a demanding work schedule that spread me too thin to deliver my desired results in my honors and AP classes. I remember not having enough time to do my homework because I would come home so late from the events that I had to attend afterschool. I really being too tired to do my homework so I would choose to sleep instead because I could not keep my eyes open.

I was able to combat this by limiting the amount of extracurricular activities I was involved in during my senior year. I was able to apply what I learned from my struggles last year to form a balance that would help me thrive. This year, I have been ahead in my classes and have only turned in one late assignment. At the same time, I have been able to keep the extracurricular activities that matter the most to me while having time for myself. I have also taken on a less demanding work schedule and have changed my habits when it comes to money so I do not need to bring in as much money.
