Lets Raise up against Bullying by Ariel - March 2017 Scholarship Essay

An important topic that I would want to give a speech about to a school-wide audience would have to be about bullying. Having an anti-bullying campaign helps fight/prevents the raise of bullying, because being a bully doesn’t make you tough or more superior then others it just shows how you don’t want to watch others succeed. I remember back when I was in fourth grade the people who I thought were my friends weren’t really my friends they would tease me and call me names for example: “cry-baby”, “Blondie” or even had a rhyme with my name “Ariel Howard has the power”. Being bullied throughout not only my Elementary and Middle School years I have come to the conclusion that if they were going to bully me I wouldn’t bully back. It’s like that saying that my grandmother always said “don’t feed fire with fire.” Meaning don’t encourage them to keep bullying you, all you have to do is walk away.
Anti-bullying is a campaign that we have over here in Granger and it helps kids stand up to bullying. Whenever some sees another being bullied, they don’t be a by stander and just stand there but instead they stick up for that person. Being able to help another person out is all the rewarding you can ever receive. Back to the topic at hand; with bullying people think that the reason why this occurs is simply because it makes them feel all cool, or more superior than others. But, what if the bully is having issues at home? And wants to takeout his/her anger on another person to feel better about themselves. When I was in Middle school and still being bullied but instead this time it was because of the race that I am and the color of my hair. You see, I am a white female with long blond hair and to top it all off I had colored eyes that everyone wanted. With my skin being white as snow and my hair being the color of the sun people thought that I was unintelligent. So what happened was I took that word that they told me to prove them wrong.
How I proved them wrong was I studied really hard in the after school program and I also started passing all my grades. This really made my bullies furious, just because I was succeeding and they weren’t. Now I am at the top of my class with all perfect grades that I earned by hard work and then later the bullies that I had started becoming my friends and I also helped them push in their classroom course that they were taking. So, you see even when you have a bully all you have to do is just ignore them and use their “feed backs” that they touted you with against them because they can either be your friend or another stick in the mud all you have to do is walk away from them problem.
