Aspirations and Association by Arianna - February 2020 Scholarship Essay
Right now the fear of the Wuhan Coronavirus is prevalent, and most people don't know how to cope with it but some associations such as American Lung Associaton has contributed info to help educate people on how to prevent the spread of disease, such as avoiding crowds and washing your hands often. I've always thought the American Heart Association, the American Lung Association or any nonprofit association that contributed towards research to improve lives altered by disease or help prevent those diseases were absolutely brilliant. And most Associations started with an aspiration.
One of my aspirations is to (if I could) start a non-profit association to research diseases and their cures. I want to help educate people on disease, contribute towards cures, and help educate people to increase immunity. I'm trying my best towards this and I'm going to be attending NDSU or UND for microbiology, chemistry, or biology. Doing this association would definitely benefit almost anyone. If research towards immunity, disease and their cures was more prevalent, the diseases would decrease, and herd immunity would be more widespread or current, and an overall healthy world would be closer to ubiquitous. People would be more educated on herd immunity and how vaccinations would benefit people, leading to healthy people and less chance of the spread of disease. Also, with knowledge of how a disease is spread, preventing it would contribute towards greater healthy communities.
